Focus is one of the key ingredient of success in an entrepreneur’s life. But then as entrepreneurs, its not easy to stay focused too. There would be enough and more of opportunities and thoughts which will come by.

One way to bring some focus to this would be;

Draw a triangle, an inverted one – base on the top. Divide it into three even blocks horizontally, so the biggest space will obviously be on the top. Now fill up your task list as follows:

  • In the top section, list things which you need to spend most.
  • In the middle section, list things which you will spend some time.
  • And in the bottom, list things that you will spend the least time.

The key to the triangle, however, isn’t simply dividing tasks into time. It is leaving tasks off the triangle completely. If it is not important, don’t include or delegate the same. But do remember, everything in there might be critical, important, or a moneymaking opportunity, but if everything is important, then nothing is. Now you may be spending less time on some things, but they were still important enough to make the triangle, and you can plot my way through them. This way, you can prioritise and bring in some great focus to your daily life.

Pushing some things off or crossing them off completely is always the hardest part of an exercise like this. But understanding the limits on your time forces you to address the important questions and brings focus to your ongoing pursuit and helps you complete and achieve some of the biggest, most important things in life.

So, Happy Focusing!
